WOMEN TRAVELLERS CONNECT VIA BRIGHT ORANGE LUGGAGE TAGS

For immediate release

Toronto, June 28, 2005. In Paris, a businesswoman boards a flight.   In Hong Kong, a backpacker checks into her hostel.   Three Aussie sisters head for a spa in Arizona.   Each woman's luggage sports a bright orange, laminated plastic, oversized luggage tag.   Spot one of these tags and you know it belongs to a woman who has a passion for travel.

These super sized (3.5 x 4.5 in.) saucy tags are the brainchild of Evelyn Hannon, editor of Journeywoman.com, the premiere online travel resource for women.   They're fireproof, waterproof, durable and fabulous fun.   On trains, planes, boats and buses, they stand out from all the rest.   Snap one on to your suitcase --you can identify instantly.   Wear one on your backpack anywhere in the world --other traveling women-in-the-know will wave and say, "Hello."

"I do appreciate the fact that these tags will serve as an identifier for other women who love to travel--that's why I ordered them.   If I meet a sister traveler because of them, they will be well worth the purchase," writes Mary a woman traveler in New York.

Good news travels fast and reaction to this female-friendly product has been spurb.   The first 'limited edition' tags sold out in two days.   The second batch was gone in just 24 hours as they were scooped up online by female travelers around the world.   Each pack contains three tags and can be purchased at:   http://www.lugtagz.com/journeywoman.htm.   They make fabulous bon voyage gifts for any woman 18-80.   $US18.50. per pack.

NOT JUST A PRETTY ORANGE TAG

One dollar from each sale of women's luggage tags will be donated to Give Girls A Chance, a fundraising initiative dedicated to helping girls and young women throughout the world seek a better life through education.   To date, their funds have helped young women and girls returning to school after years of oppression under the Taliban regime, young females in a remote village in Tibet who are receiving education for the first time and orphaned girls in AIDS-ravaged Zambia attending the Umoyo Training Centre for Girls.

Stephen Lewis, the UN Special Envoy for AIDS/HIV in Africa says, "Umoyo Training Centre for Girls is the best example of girl's empowerment I've seen in many a year in Africa.   It has about 50 girls, ranging in age from 14 to 18, all of them democratically chosen by their communities.   They come together in this residential setting for a year, and emerge from the desperate trauma of death and loss, fully self-confident, brimming with excitement about education and life, open and informed about the danger of HIV/AIDS and ready to tackle the world."
